What We Do

Cops Who Care partners with the Wickenburg Community Assistance Program each year to help over 200 children receive gifts during the holiday season. The program is ran and accomplished only through the hard work and dedication of volunteers within the community. Gifts for the children from each applied family are bagged and then delivered during the annual toy giveaway a week or two before Christmas each year.

What We Need

Here is a quick list of items that help us each year.

  • New, unopened toys or gifts (each child from newborn to 17y/o receive two gifts each)

  • Wrapping paper rolls (between 50sq.ft to 200 sq.ft is ideal)

  • Clear gift wrapping tape (single use tape with dispenser)

  • Batteries for the toys (AA, AAA & D batteries are the most common)

Common Questions

  • Are you able to help every family that signs up for assistance?

    • Thus far, we have been able to help every family that asks for help and not have to turn anybody away.

  • What happens if you don't have enough gifts?

    • It is not uncommon for not enough toys/gifts to be received for a certain age bracket. When that happens, we utilize cash donations to purchase gifts so that every child receive age appropriate gifts.

  • What happens to the toys or gifts that are not used?

    • The toys or gifts can go to a number of locations. We often store gifts to be used for future events or the following year, and we will reach out to children facilities such as a day care, school, pediatric hospital, etc. to see if they are interested and/or willing to take donations. If none of those options are possible then the toy or gift may be donated to another local charity to be utilized.
